How it works
CNC milling machines are computer-aided by dedicated software (CAD/CAM) and allow the precise machining of different types of materials such as metal, plastic, foam, stone or wood. The drawing or model made with the software will create the manufacturing process. It will be possible to mill a prototype or to start the production of a series of standard parts for example.
Once the design is complete, the computer continues to control the CNC machine throughout the machining process.
The motor of the milling machine can be started directly when the computer program is launched under the supervision of the operator. Digital milling machines can be used to make a large number of cuts, engravings, face milling or holes by removing material from the surface or from deep within the workpiece.
Digital technology allows milling to be carried out with a high quality finish, less risk of wear on the machined parts, greater reliability by reducing the fragility of the products produced, even on parts of small size or diameter. It increases the speed of production while maintaining optimum manufacturing quality.
